In a dystopian future, totalitarian nation Pan is divided between the 12 districts and Capitol. Each year, two young representatives from each district selected by lot to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal retribution for past rebellion, transmitted by television, the games are broadcast around the Lord. Among the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, but Pan citizens are obliged to follow. When 16-year-old Katnisss young sister, Prim, is selected as the District 12S female representative, Katniss volunteers in place. She and her male counterpart Peet, is pitted against bigger, stronger representatives, some of whom trained for this all my life . |
